Have you visited us at GoJasonville? We have been very busy adding new special features and would like to get your input and ideas. Here are a few of the things that have been added to the website...

1. Feature Videos. We have added a video of the season opener Shakamak Laker Varsity-Jr. Varsity Basketball game and have plans for more videos to be added in the future.

How do you like the video? Is this something you would like to see more of on GoJasonville?

2. An improved website navigation is in the works and has already been implemented on the homepage. This navigation will eventually be added to all the pages within GoJasonville. With around 150 pages to the website now, we feel this navigation will make the website much easier for visitors to find what they are looking for as it continues to grow.

3. Free Ecards have been added in which individuals can send free ecards to family and friends. More photos and song choices available soon.

4. An improved community calendar has been launched allowing for updates to events months in advance.

That's not all. More special features, articles, and pages are in the works including an improved business directory and photo gallery, free desktop wallpapers featuring photos of the area, along with more feature videos.

Welcome to GoJasonville and thank you for being a part of our "Community" .

This is a special issue of the GoJasonville Community Newsletter for you, the teachers, staff, and administrators of the Shakamak School District.

We are sending this newsletter to inform you of all the new additions we have added to the website and would like to ask for your participation in GoJasonville. As our goal of "Bringing Communities Together" continues, we would like to see more involvement and participation from members of the area on the website. We hope that GoJasonville is and continues to be a valuable resource for visitors to the area and that this in turn increases community awareness of what Jasonville has to offer. This involves participation by members of our community.

We are getting several visitors a day, many of which are former residents who live outside of the area now. We feel that as school staff you could be a very valuable resource to keep members of the community, surrounding area, and former residents informed of school developments, activities and such.

Keep in mind that GoJasonville is not affiliated with the "City of Jasonville" governmental offices and is completely ran by members of the community for the community and surrounding areas.

The following are some ideas in which we feel that you, the teachers, staff, and administrators of the Shakamak School District, could contribute to the website.

1. School writing projects.. stories submitted by the students, teachers, staff and administrators on subjects like what they like about living in Jasonville, what kind of improvements they would like to see in the Jasonville area, how they spend their free time, what places they enjoy visiting, or what community activities they enjoy.

This would be a great idea for an extra credit project and for developing writing skills. We feel our visitors would enjoy these submissions.

2. Special features and articles on sporting events, school events, musical arts, entertainment etc. submitted by students, teachers, staff and administrators.

This could be articles or monthy features such as: how participation in music, art, drama or extra curricular activities benefit students, tips for students wishing to further their education, how to budget for the future, sports tips, hunting or fishing pointers, scores and highlights from sporting events, wildlife in the area, or any other subject our visitors may be interested in learning about.

This will increase community awareness and knowledge, and will benefit potential visitors to the Jasonville area. This would be another nice project for extra credit. In addition, it is an excellent opportunity for students to show off their writing and journalistic abilities.

3. Submission of activities, meetings, fundraiser's, and/or special events for school clubs and organizations. These events are added to the community calendar or various pages within the website. Promote your club or organizations events, fundraiser's, and/or activities, while providing a resource for upcoming events in the area.

4. Spread the word. Tell students, family members, and friends about GoJasonville and encourage them to participate and interact on the website. We would enjoy the company :).

5. Participate and Interact...Sign our guestbook. This is a great place to introduce yourselves and tell us how you like GoJasonville and how we can improve. Keep in mind your email address can be hidden in your preferences and real names are not required in order to protect your privacy.

Participate in the discussions. This is a great place to post special announcements, meet people in the area, keep in touch with alumni, and express your thoughts. Although a valid email address is required in order to register, once again you can hide your email address in the profile and remain anonymous.

It's always a plus to see that people in the community are involved in making it a better place.
