With it's deep canyons and sandstone
cliffs, Turkey Run State Park has some of the most
rugged trails in Indiana. The geology of this area is astonishing.
Hiking these trails you will
see a covered bridge, walk along a suspension bridge over Sugar
Creek, walk through caverns and up ladders.
When you're done hiking...cool
down in Sugar Creek, swim in the pool, take a canoe ride,
go horseback riding, fish, picnic or visit the Nature Center.
Picnic shelters are available throughout the park. Accomodations
include Turkey Run Inn, rv rentals, cabins, and a campground.
Turkey Run is 2,382 acres of sheer beauty. A memorial for
Col. Richard Lieber, the father of Indiana State Parks, lies
atop a grove near the end of Trail 11.His foresight allowed
Indiana to become one of the first states in the nation to
preserve significant natural areas in a system of state parks.
Visit Turkey Run and be amazed by the natural wonders throughout
the park.
