Turtle Creek Reservoir ::
Turtle Creek Reservoir ran by Hoosier
Energy is one of the best fishing and waterfowl
hunting spots in the state of Indiana.
Within it's 1,550 acres, a large
Environmental Education Center with indoor and outdoor laboratory
facilities, audio-visual equipment, and study and curriculum
materials offers educators a place to teach topics such as
biology, zoology, wildlife preservation, chemistry, energy
and the environment.
Boy and Girl Scouts, youth service
organizations and other groups with an interest
in science or the environment are also invited to use the
facility.
Turtle Creek Reservoir has been stocked with
bluegill, redear sunfish, black crappie, largemouth bass
and channel catfish. For the waterfowl hunter, Turtle Creek
provides in-season goose and duck hunting. Although Turtle
Creek was developed to provide water for a Hoosier Energy
Generating Station, it has become a nice recreational spot
for hunters, fishermen, and educators.
