What is Heritage Block?

One city block is the keystone to downtown renovation in Jasonville. It was the first block to become part of the original "Town of Jasonville". It is also the generally accepted location of Jason Rogers' store. Jasonville was named after Mr. Rogers when Billy Buckallew scrawled "Jason ville" on the side of his friend's store back in the 1850's.

Phase one is the placing of bricks in the sidewalk, four old fashioned street lights, and a historical marker on the south side of Main St, between Lawton Street and Meridian Street. This is the Main Street Project, "Heritage Block".

How you may help...

You may invest in the project by purchasing a brick to be placed in the sidewalk. The brick will be engraved with your name, or the name of a loved one, business, organization, club, church, company or another name of your choice.

Now What? Just fill in the blanks of the form provided here the way you want your brick engraved. Then, mail or present your check for $50.00 per brick to the Jasonville Clerk Treasurer. The check should be made out to the "City of Jasonville". Please designate "Heritage Block Project" on your check. If sending it by mail, please send to 304 West Main St., Jasonville, IN 47438.
