Nature Center Open
from 12-3 p.m. today.
9:00 a.m. HP/HP: Take a Hike!
Meet the Naturalist at Trail 3 for a moderate
1.5 mile hike. Wear hiking shoes; no flip-flops please. Bring
a bottle water and some bug spray. EMB
1:00 p.m. Hoosier Quest Patch
and Pin Program Hour It’s our new program for
kids and families. Stop by the Nature Center and learn how
you can work towards a patch or pin. We meet one hour a day
to get you started or help you as you are working along. NO
groups please. Groups interested in earning a patch should
ask about The Hoosier Pathfinder Program, which includes a

High Power Ever wanted to be a scientist? Well,
here’s your chance! Become a scientist as you collect insects
and use microscopes and hand lenses to examine insects. Find
out who has polka dots on its legs! DLF
8:30 p.m. ”By The Light of the
Moon” Hike Meet at the Campground Gate. We’ll
use the light of July’s full moon to guide our way as we take
a closer look at the sensory adaptations of nocturnal animals! EMB/DLF

outside the NC for a short program on how to identify some
of the common trees found in Shakamak State Park. It’s a great

you have them, if not bait will be available for purchase in
the camp store, which is located next to the pool. Prizes
will be given for biggest catch and most caught. EMB
