Storms Random Ramblings: Indiana Superdelegates

I found an article on the Indiana Superdelegates that I find rather interesting. I was unaware that superdelegates could be paid off. I thought that in this world that most would go with the popular vote from their state, county, district or whatever applies, especially if they want to be reelected. Anyway, here is an interesting article I found concerning the votes of Indiana Superdelegates. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Indiana_2008_presidential_primary_and_superdelegates. I see where Ellsworth may endorse Clinton but I wonder if the $10000 from Obama will influence the decision. I'm just floored that this stuff happens. I guess I always kinda figured but never saw the proof.

I also found this statement on a website "Obama's political action committee has doled out more than $694,000 to superdelegates since 2005, the study found, and of the 81 who had announced their support for Obama, 34 had received donations totaling $228,000.

Clinton's political action committee has distributed about $195,000 to superdelegates, and only 13 of the 109 who had announced for her have received money, totaling about $95,000." http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2008/02/superdelegates.html

Here is a website with a little video about Obama buying out superdelegates...

Spring

Anyone else excited that Spring is here? The mushrooms will be popping up any time now. I think we are getting the "showers", may have to build an arc. I am looking forward to all the many events happening soon. Jasonville is hopping this spring with Piankeshaw Trails School of the Native, the carnival for the Tri-County Festival, the 150th Anniversary coming up in July, the fireworks. Too many events to list all of them but you can always check out the GoJasonville Community Calendar and see what is happening. I also hear that Hillary Clinton is coming to Terre Haute. This would be a great opportunity to get some of the visitors to Jasonville. Shakamak would be the perfect place to stay. Anyone wishing to look into bunking out at Shakamak State Park can visit GoShakamak.com and get the latest information. The group camp has been newly remodeled and cabins are being rented individually during certain parts of the year.

How will you be spending your tax relief checks?

So as you may have heard, those filing taxes for 2007 may be receiving additional tax checks. These checks are meant to "boost" the economy by promoting spending and increasing job creation... What? This has been done in prior years and I'm curious as to how this additional money for "spending" is supposed to boost the economy. It would be interesting to see how people spend their checks. I for one will be using it to pay my property taxes due in the same month. Hmmmm, well I guess that means I won't have to take the money for my property taxes out of my hard earned paycheck that I would have spent on what... bills and fuel to get to work to be able to do what... pay more bills, or maybe buy groceries or pay my utility bills at increased prices due to fuel costs,  I notice higher prices everywhere and wonder if you are spending more for what you get, and are making the same amount of pay would that mean that most of this money from this economy boosting check will be to pay for things you would normally pay anyway and at increased cost. Am I missing something, it's great that we will be getting additional refunds. I'm all for the extra cash. I'm actually confused as to how this is really such an economy "booster". Geniuses please explain because I must not be getting it...

So how will you be spending your check or will you be saving it for a rainy day?
