In case you haven't heard, Netscape, the world renowned browser of the 90's will no longer offer security updates or support for their browser after March 1st and they are encouraging users to switch to Firefox or Flock. Flock is a web browser, built on Mozilla's Firefox codebase, enhanced to deliver your friends, feeds, sites and media in one convenient view, putting you at your own epicenter of interests and activity. It eliminates the need to continually click from site to site to stay up to speed with your friends and interests.
Flock is the browser for people who like to be connected, informed and in control.
- Connected to their community of friends and family
- Connected to their favorite services, like Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, and others
- Connected to their favorite content, from anywhere on the web: Nytimes, CNN, etc
- Connected to their favorite video and photos from Flickr, YouTube, Photobucket, Truveo and others
Firefox is an award-winning Web browser and is now faster, more secure, and fully customizable to your online life. With Firefox 2, they have added powerful new features that make your online experience even better.
Why are we adding this article to GoJasonville? As web designers we test our sites in various versions of browsers for functionality. So what does this mean? We will no longer be testing for Netscape and advise individuals with Netscape to uninstall. Although you can still download versions of Netscape, it is no longer being supported, and with no future security updates using it will put the security of your pc at risk. Our advice would be to use current versions of Explorer, Firefox, Flock or Safari and put your Netscape browsers to rest.
